Bonnie's passion for soccer started at a young age. She grew up in Northern Virginia, playing recreational and travel soccer for various local teams. She continued to play soccer at W. T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia, where she also played tennis and ran track. Her love for playing the beautiful game easily transitioned into coaching when she was an undergraduate at the University of Virginia and started coaching kids with the Soccer Organization Charlottesville Area. Bonnie would continue to play in various soccer leagues and clubs while living in New York City, Washington, D.C., and back at UVA while she attended law school.
Bonnie started coaching with VYS when her oldest daughter reached the U5 level in 2011. Since then she has been been extremely dedicated to the club. She has served as a head and assistant coach with the recreational program, an all star coach, an indoor coach, a futsal coach, a travel manager, a travel assistant coach, and a TOPSoccer coach. Every season since she started with VYS she has served in one or more of those capacities. She has earned her US National E License and attended PCA training. She is currently a part-time attorney, and lives in Vienna with her husband and three elementary-aged children. Bonnie is committed to VYS' mission and will strive to ensure VYS produces the highest quality programs in an environment that fosters respect and development for all kids in the area.
